Dear Church Family, being able to meet together is something that we have taken for granted in the past, and something that we value so much more now that we know how easily it can be taken away.  After a short period of restrictions, I would like to bring you up-to-date with how we are able to meet together including some of the other programs and plans in the days and weeks ahead.

CHURCH THIS SUNDAY

This week, the size of our building means that we don’t need to book in order to come to church. Please join us for worship on Sunday morning, and come with a plan to stay for a cuppa after the service because for many people the isolation has taken a toll and we want to encourage and celebrate our freedom to belong together as God’s Family.

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS – FRIDAY 25th JUNE

This Friday we are going on an adventure. Our amazing leaders have planned a Scavenger Hunt around Chadstone Shopping Centre.  Transport to and from the church is arranged so what you need to know is this:

  • Meet at the church at 6:00 pm (Or alternatively at 6:30 pm out the front of K-Mart in Chadstone).
  • Bring $20 as we will begin by buying our dinner and gathering in groups to eat.
  • We will transport everyone back to the church and pick-up from the church is 9:00 pm.

Any Questions – contact Joe, Emily or Brad.

CHURCH AGM

Making plans to hold our AGM has been difficult so we have pushed it back to Sunday 1st August.  We will arrange a Subway Lunch like last year and hold the meeting at around 1 pm.

Nominations for leadership positions are open – particularly for Church Secretary, Church Treasurer, Deacons & Church Delegates. We are always looking for those to support in helping the Property Team care for our facilities. More information will be available in the church foyer or by contacting the church office. office@oakleighbaptist.org (03) 9570 6154

PRAYER MEETING

I’ve been meeting with a group of local pastors on a regular basis. We have been meeting for fellowship and prayer, but together we have sensed that God is calling us to a season of specific and targeted prayer that the veil be lifted from the eyes of those who have been blinded by the enemy. I plan to attend at least one of the sessions during a 24-hour prayer vigil from 7 Pm Friday 2nd July. If you wish to attend with me, or at another time that suits you, please let me know.

Sorry for the long and detailed message – I look forward to being with you in church on Sunday.
