Six Giant Steps

Next Steps

We all make significant choices, many which have a great effect on our life story. Career, marriage, family, moving away, divorce etc. So many things that have a large impact. It is same with our life of faith but many of the biggest choices we make, while having enormous impact, are really very straightforward.

In Mark 1:15, Jesus says; “The time has come, the Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the Good News.” And in the next verse he approaches four people and invites them to follow him. They are invited to ‘repent and believe’ or maybe another way we could say that is, ‘turn and trust.’ They are invited to turn from what they are doing to experience what God is doing. This involves trusting in Jesus. They chose to do that and they began the journey of their life experiencing the Kingdom of God, the presence and purpose of God.

It is the same for all of us, Jesus comes and invites us to ‘turn and trust.’ He does that in lots of ways but there are six very big ways. We will call them giant steps and we are invited to ‘turn and trust’ in order to experience the Kingdom of God. These giant steps that are true for all Christians are very straight forward but very powerful and very important.

We invite you to explore these six giant steps with us. Do it prayerfully and at your own pace. You don’t have to do it alone. We would love you to respond with questions and comments, especially if your exploration prompts you to action. Because that is what the Christian life is all about. A relationship with Jesus, the Son of God, that through trusting in Him and following Him, leads you to experience the wonder of God’s Kingdom on Earth, and His Eternal Kingdom when it is time to go home.

I Believe

Believe

God as the creator of all things gives new life and eternal life to all those who believe in Jesus. If you are looking for a life-changing encounter to live in accordance with God’s creative design for your life, respond in faith to God today. Believe.

Baptism

Baptism

Jesus commanded the apostles and the church to make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an act of faith and a testimony that you as a believer have been united with Jesus.

Belong

Belong

Belief in Jesus leads to fellowship with other believers. This is the collective dimension of Christian life, the church. While universal, it finds expression in local assemblies of believers. There are many ways to connect and belong.

Serving

Serve

Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. He came to give His life for others. We are called to do the same. Every Christian is called to service. In God’s Kingdom everyone has a place and a purpose. You were created to serve God.

Mission

Mission

Jesus’s last words to His disciples was, ‘’Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.’’ God is at work in the world in he wants you to join him. The church is engaged in mission to the world. You were made to mission.

Sharing

Share

When we become believers, we also become God’s messengers. As the love of Christ is in the hearts of believers, this love flows out and is shared with others. We should always be ready to share the love of Jesus Christ with others.
