Let me share short thought from one of my favourite verses.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Prov 3:5-6

As I write this morning message, I’ve just read that there have been zero Covid19 cases recorded in Victoria overnight, and while for me, this virus is something to be aware of and take care to keep it from spreading, it isn’t something to fear, nevertheless the impact of lockdown has been, in one word, overwhelming. So naturally my mind goes to questions of what this means for the coming days.

Then I am carried back to this verse – and in particular to two words: Lord & heart. “Trust in the LORD with all your HEART.”

For me – it takes a real act of will to bring all those thoughts: anxieties, frustrations, anger, scepticism and so many other feelings, and deliberately bring them into the light of Jesus. It is like a jigsaw puzzle piece that is hard to place, being brought into the light and under a magnifying glass, and all of a sudden it becomes clear.

What does ‘trusting the Lord with all your heart’ look like for you? What helps you do it well? Because only in the context of Jesus will we ever find certain and eternal hope, and everyone finds their place.
